About the 1st Anniversary Update


  We've been planning to make a major update of SZX and make it available on april 2 since it's going to make 1 year since the game's release.


  Since last year, i've been using linux as my main OS, and of course i had to restart the PC to use windows in order to update the game. Since i wanted to save time and the fact i don't have money to buy another graphics card to use it in virt-manager, i decided to install GameMaker Studio 1.4 on linux even though it was rated "silver" in the winehq site (the test used for the rating itself was done in 2017), so after modifying some settings on "bottles" (one of the wine front-ends), i managed to make GMS 1.4 run on linux, but it doesn't end here.

  For unknown reasons, the game's code was partially corrupt (mostly the "script" folder) when the files were transferred from the windows drive to the linux one and i only realized this when the first render "worked" and most texts were with a bunch of "zeros" for no reason, for my luck, i had several backups of the game's source code so i managed to fix this problem easily, but then, i realized that under wine, the PS4 controller is recognized as an Ximput controller in gamemaker so i realized how glitchy was the code for the Ximput controllers, so today we at venagon started to look into it and fix the code.

  So i'm making this devlog to inform you all that the 1st anniversary update may be delayed due to that, regadless, here's what is planned for the v1.10 of the game:


-Minor bugs fixes

 -Fixes and improvements on the Gamepad controls

-Brand new pause menu 

-HUDs for items (i.e grenades, shield)
